Besides the audio recordings there is also video documentation available at the Archives of Latvian Folklore. The first video recording (on VHS format) was performed by the Latvian camera man Zigurds Vidiņš in 1986 – the concert after the annual K. Barons’ conference. He also later took part in numerous expeditions, providing video documentation of informants’ performance.
In 1992 ALF received its first video recording equipment, different generations of technology producing more than 350 hours by 2013.
Online, at the ALF database, there is data available on the video recordings, including place, time and recorded persons. The recordings themselves can be viewed at the Archives.
